Early detection saves lives.
This October, GIHOC Distilleries joins the global fight against breast cancer. Our company doctor,
Nana Amma Owusu-Agyeman, encourages everyone—women and men—to learn the signs, perform regular
self-checks, and book professional screenings.
👀
Know the signs
- Lump in the breast
- Changes in breast shape and size
- Dimpling around the breast
- Nipple discharge
- Nipple discharge (other than milk)
- Persistent pain in one area
⏱️
60-second self-check
Stand in front of a mirror with shoulders straight, hands on hips. Look for changes in size, shape,
swelling, skin texture, or nipple position.
Raise your arms overhead and look again for the same changes from several angles.
Using the pads of three fingers, move in small circular motions covering the whole breast and armpit—
from collarbone to bra line, center to side.
With a pillow under your shoulder, repeat the circular pattern. Use light, medium, then firm pressure.
📅
Get screened
If you notice any changes, speak to a healthcare professional. Regular screenings and clinical breast
exams are recommended based on age and risk.
